Hiatus

I know that it has been a year (over a year) since I last posted. Things around here have been very crazy and there have been a lot of decisions that have had to be made. Life-changing decisions. Things are still up in the air, but I feel more balanced than I have in the last year, so I thought maybe it was time to start up the Adventures again. I would not want Maya to think that she didn't do anything interesting, because that is far from the case! Anyway, here we go again:

Isabela and Maya's Adventures!

Isabela is her usual rocket self. Turning five has given her greater verbal skills (like she needed those) and greater physical skills - the better to knock down her sister. She doesn't mean to hurt anyone, she is just energy that is somehow trapped inside of a person. She is starting to read, which is great fun and can somehow sit for hours looking at books. Afterward, of course, she has to run for 20-30 minutes solid. Good thing we have a "racetrack" around our kitchen and family room. It is so much fun to come upstairs at night and see her completely passed out with piles and piles of books around her. She is someone who truly plays hard and sleeps hard.

Maya is unbelievably cute these days. Her hair is finally long enough to do something with and she looks darling in pigtails. She is one tough girl. I suppose that she has to be to contend with her sister. Isabela runs by and knocks Maya down all of the time, she likes to be acknowledged - that she got hurt - but otherwise she brushes it off and keeps going (she literally brushes her hands together). She is using more words all of the time. For a long time, she didn't want to talk. We knew that she had the ability, but she is nothing if not stubborn. Her favorite word currently is "Maya". She uses it constantly. In the morning, when I am getting ready in the bathroom, she dances around in the closet, spinning and saying, "Maya, Maya, Maya....MAYA!" On the last one she will turn to face me with her arms spread wide. So cute!

All in all, we have had a lot of fun over the last year. I am going to try and pick out some pictures that show some of the great times we have had. So much growth! I love my girls!
