Urban Ecology Center

Jake  and I are almost done with the house (finally!).  So a few weekends ago we decided to take some time off and go to the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee.  Very cool place.  We had been meaning to go for a while and were especially interested in the architecture.  We are in the planning stages for building a zero energy timber frame house and so we are very interested in sustainable buildings.

There was a slide that could only be reached by a very small door outside.  It was difficult to drag the kids away!

There was also a really cool climbing spiderweb - as Isabela calls it.  So much fun!  There was more too - Wisconsin animals, a climbing wall and even more.  We saw a movie about mushrooms and then went on a mushroom hunting foray.  We didn't find anything, but the girls had a blast looking.  We soon got separated from the group as the girls made their own discoveries, as usual.
